Whether you’re heading out for fishing, cruising, swimming, or just floating the day away, a little preparation goes a long way toward making your day smooth and stress-free. Here’s a list of must-pack essentials to bring with you for the ultimate lake day:

1. Sun Protection

Sunscreen (water-resistant, at least SPF 30)
Sunglasses (preferably polarized)
Wide-brim hat or cap
Lightweight cover-up or UV shirt

The sun can be intense on the water, and even on cloudy days, UV rays reflect off the lake surface. Don’t let a sunburn be your souvenir.

2. Swim & Towels

Swimsuits
Towels or quick-dry beach blankets
Change of clothes for the ride home

If you’re planning on swimming or using a slide boat, you’ll want to stay comfortable—and dry—throughout the day.

3. Snacks & Drinks

Cooler with ice packs
Plenty of water to stay hydrated
